The U.S. headphone market is still dominated by AirPods and Beats.

Apple’s two headphone brands account for almost half of the U.S. headphone and earbud market, according to new statistics from analytics company Statista. Thirty-four percent of those surveyed by Statista’s Global Consumer Survey in 2021 used AirPods, while fifteen percent opted for Beats.

As a result, Apple’s AirPods and Beats headphones account for almost half of all headphones sold in the United States. Only 12% of the market was owned by Bose, which placed in third place.

AirPods, now in their third generation, are quite possibly the most popular headphones on the planet. Dan Ives, an analyst at Wedbush, estimates that AirPods have grown into a $20 billion annual business and are on track to sell 100 million units this year.

According to Statista’s Global Consumer Survey, Apple is the most popular headphone brand in the U.S. by a considerable distance. Having asked 4,220 U.S. adults about their personal headphones, Statista found that 34.4 percent of respondents used one of Apple’s products, followed by Apple-owned Beats in second position at 15.3 percent.

If the predictions are true, AirPods have become a Fortune 100 company all on their own. The third version of Apple’s AirPods was released in the autumn of 2021. The second generation of AirPods Pro is also scheduled to be released later this year.
